National Association for Multicultural Education

Welcome to the Minnesota chapter of the National Association for Multicultural Education (MN-NAME). We are a non-profit organization comprised of educators, activists, parents, non-profit folks, and others committed to equity, social justice, and multicultural education.

MN-NAME Conference - JOIN US!

After a few years of virtual events, we are so excited to get back together in person on Saturday, October 14th, 2023 at Burnsville High School.  We can't wait to see you all!

As a chapter of the National Association for Multicultural Education, MN-NAME has been organized to operate exclusively for charitable, benevolent, literary, cultural, and educational purposes, including but not limited to: advancing a philosophy of inclusivity that embraces the basic tenets of cultural pluralism; promoting cultural and ethnic diversity as a regional, national, and global strength; fostering equity and justice for all regardless of culture, ethnicity, race, language, age, sex, gender, (dis)ability, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status; promoting professional and social exchanges between people from all academic disciplines and diverse educational institutions and occupations who advocate for multicultural education; and representing and addressing the needs of the multicultural education community.

MN-NAME is dedicated to ensuring the full academic potential of every learner by 1) fostering a network through which educators and other supporters of multicultural education can share knowledge and resources; 2) providing and supporting educational opportunities that facilitate professional growth and critical consciousness in educators and the wider community; and 3) advocating for educational equity and social justice.
