About MN-NAME
Purpose
As a chapter of the National Association for Multicultural Education, MN-NAME has been organized to operate exclusively for charitable, benevolent, literary, cultural, and educational purposes, including but not limited to: advancing a philosophy of inclusivity that embraces the basic tenets of cultural pluralism; promoting cultural and ethnic diversity as a regional, national, and global strength; fostering equity and justice for all regardless of culture, ethnicity, race, language, age, sex, gender, (dis)ability, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status; promoting professional and social exchanges between people from all academic disciplines and diverse educational institutions and occupations who advocate for multicultural education; and representing and addressing the needs of the multicultural education community.
Mission
MN-NAME is dedicated to ensuring the full academic potential of every learner by 1) fostering a network through which educators and other supporters of multicultural education can share knowledge and resources; 2) providing and supporting educational opportunities that facilitate professional growth and critical consciousness in educators and the wider community; and 3) advocating for educational equity and social justice.
